Corinne Teed and Jaime Knight, both graduate students in the University of Iowa MFA Printmaking program with histories as educators, activists and organizers, share an interest in the exploration of queer identities. Through the use of print, and print logic in 2-d as well as sculptural and time-based media the two artists address issues of subjectivity, relationality and queer intimacies. Inspired by the relative isolation felt being queer in the 6th largest city in Iowa and the location of SGCI 2014, Knight and Teed organized 29 queer identified artists for the Queer Communities in print Portfolio.
The opening will be the 22nd from 5-8pm. There will be light snacks and wine!
